From w/c 3rd June, the following appointments will also be available - Monday - 4pm, Tues - 10:15am, Weds - 10:15am, 11:30am, 3.15pm

If booking for smoking/vaping cessation - this is only a one-off 1.5 - 2 hour session and so I may be able to fit appointments in for this at different times during the day to those listed above, so please get in touch to enquire about availability for these sessions

​Why do I feel equipped to do this? 

Well, I have a chronic illness myself, Fibromyalgia, and therefore I feel that I have deep understanding of how a chronic illness can affect people as individuals and also on the relationships they have. ​

​If you are struggling with a chronic illness then you will probably agree that in addition to experiencing physical effects, a chronic illness can have a huge impact on your emotional and psychological health and well-being. It did for me and I know I'm not alone.

Individual Counselling for Chronic Health. 

I believe that although counselling cannot take away or cure your illness it can really teach you how to accept it and work with it rather than against it. You CAN work towards creating a life with the chronic illness in it and I would love to be part of that journey with you.  

Struggling with a chronic illness is a very personal experience, as each individual will perceive and experience their illness differently.

It therefore follows that how it is managed is also a personal process and this is where I can help with: - 

  • Emotional Support: Living with a chronic illness can lead to various emotional challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, and frustration. Counselling provides a safe space for individuals to express their feelings, fears, and concerns about their illness.

  • Coping Strategies: Counsellors can help individuals develop effective coping strategies to manage stress, pain, and other symptoms associated with their illness. This may involve relaxation techniques, mindfulness practices, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and problem-solving skills.

  • Improving Communication: Chronic illness can strain relationships with family members, friends, and healthcare providers. Counselling can improve communication skills and help individuals navigate difficult conversations about their illness, treatment options, and caregiving needs.

  • Adjustment to Illness: Counselling can assist individuals in adjusting to the changes and limitations imposed by their illness. This may involve exploring new identities, roles, and goals in light of their health condition.

SOLUTION-FOCUSSED HYPNOTHERAPY (SFH) FOR CHRONIC HEALTH (available in late-Spring 2024)

SFH combines hypnosis with solution-focused therapy principles to facilitate positive changes in individuals. Here's how SFH can be beneficial for chronic health conditions: -

  • Pain Management: SFH techniques can be used to help manage pain associated with chronic health conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and chronic headaches. Hypnosis can help individuals reduce their perception of pain and improve their ability to cope with discomfort.
